Sethan Valley is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh at a distance of 12 KM from Manali. It is a small Buddhist hamlet that consists of between 12 and 15 families which call it their paradise. It has nothing to do with a chaotic urban lifestyle and offers peace and tranquility to its visitors. The inhabitants migrated here from different parts of Himachal Pradesh, and they were shepherds. All these people of this village belong to the Khampa tribe. Life in this village becomes very tough during the months of winter because the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius. Therefore, farming is not possible for them. In the winter, they moved to Kullu Valley.

Sethan Valley is situated at 2700 meters above sea level. One can get a glimpse of the Dauladhar range with the mesmerizing Beas River cascading through the valley. The Beas River divides between two prominent ranges of the Himalayas-Dauladhar and PirPanjal.

Sethan is a tiny Buddhist village known for its natural beauty which is covered by snow during the months of winter. The panoramic view of this place leaves everyone enthralled and inspires them to be here with family or friends. It is also known as a secluded place therefore you will not find a large number of tourists here.

Sethan Valley is nestled in the Himalayas; therefore there are a few things you should take note of before visiting this place.

1:-The network connectivity is not good across the valley, therefore mobile phones respond unreachable over there.
2:-The travelers who are having altitude sickness are advised to carry medicines that can calm their system.

Sethan Valley is known for Igloo which turns out to be a unique selling product of this place. Apart from that, there are many things to do, such as trekking in HamptaPass, Visiting PanduRopa, Stargazing, Snowboarding, staying at the Igloo Village, experiencing the Buddhist culture, exploring Indrasana Peak, going adventurous with Bouldering, etc.

The whole place is full of nature which includes Snow Mountain, trekking, and many more. Between January and May is the ideal time to visit Sethan Valley as many activities such as snowboarding, skiing, and trekking can be done here. June to November is the best time to be here because one can explore the forest and trek nearby hills.

How To Reach Sethan Valley?

Sethan Valley is just 12 km away from Manali. After reaching Manali, you will find local buses or taxis running between Manali and Sethan Valley. But it is important to know how to reach Manali in the first place.

By Road:
You can easily find buses that run to Manali daily from all the major cities near Manali including Delhi and Chandigarh. Besides, you can drive yourself here in your car or a rented vehicle.
By Rail:
Joginder Railway Station is the nearest railway station located at a distance of 160km from Sethan Valley. It is a small station, and you cannot find a direct train till here. So it would not be the best option to reach Sethan Valley.
By Air:
Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntur is the nearest airport which is 50 km away from Manali. you can catch a flight till here; then hire a taxi that will take you to Manali or straight to Sethan Valley if you are not stopping over in Manali.
