=================================================================== ======= GAUDIYA GRANTHA MANDIRA CHANGELOG ================================== ==== With erratic increments, no it doesn't have to make any sense. ==== ======== And what you're looking at is still a work in progress! ========= ======================================================================= Dev 0.66 * * News editor and newsletter mailer in place. (Editors, don't start mailing yet! Needs testing. And some documentation, too!) Dev 0.65 * * Editor interface work has begun! * Entry editor all set! * A double deep file backup system in place to ensure that no goodies ever get lost. Dev 0.62 * * GGM XHK keyboard layout v1.03 released. A new GGM tool for direct Harvard-Kyoto -> IAST input. * Veni XHK Sans & Serif released: Two fonts that automagically make Harvard-Kyoto look like diacritics. * Date format for text addition etc. dates shortened. Dev 0.61 * * Resources-page created and updated. (Though the contents still need revision.) * GGM Encoding Converter (JavaScript) v1.30 released. (See notes at the above page.) (PHP version ditched in favor of diCrunch that has all of its features and more.) Dev 0.60 * * Forum online. We'll use the old InvisionBoard engine until phpBB 3 graduates with a final version and the guys put out a full forum converter. I don't have time to start coding one myself, tracking down all the database correlations over dozens of tables is just too much of a headache. The forum isn't terribly skinned for the task since it's a temporary setup. * Some integration done with member detail functions, eliminating overlaps with registration, password recovery and the such. * Main site and forum member bases synchronized -> copied from main to forum after purging forum. * Premium membership options and functionality being worked on, notes integrated here and there. * Screened through the member database and removed 75 fraudulent registrations. Purged the entire forum membership, there were about 800 of which 15 had posted and about 600 were automated spammer registrations! * Implemented literacy check for registration to get rid of spammers and other obnoxia. Dev 0.50 * * Categories are now ordered in an orderly manner. * Registration works again -- hooray! * Member password recovery node has been added. * Small cross-browser issues fixed. (Cross-browser checking will be done in the end. However feel free to report issues now.) * "Support" page has been renamed to "Donate", as the word "Support" is often associated with technical support and the such. * Some text content rewritten, much more needs to be done in this regard. (This is random work at this point! The emphasis is on coding now.) * Privacy policy added, available under "Registration" and "Member control panel". Dev 0.40 * * Category switch added to search engine. * Comment listing enabled for entries. * Some character corruptions fixed (— = —, “ = “, †= ”, ’ = '). * Search options added in the left column. (Category and author dropdown are automatically generated from available data.) * News now give synopsis on front page. * News archive available. * Individual news now clickable for a separate view. Improved general news handling. * Member box streamlined, staff announcement box added. (Particularly important news items can be tagged as announcements.) * A bluish theme developed, some other visual tweaks in place. (And ah, does it look so much more alive than the grey version!) You can change themes in your member options now. * Individual file download tracker installed. (Not visible yet, but they're tracked.) Dev 0.31 * * Mirror redirection entries for redundant entries resulting from multiple formats in the old GGM put in place. We want to keep the links for the old GGM working, just redirects in place and voilà we didn't loose the search engines and confuse everyone who clicked those thousands of links out there. Dev 0.30 * * Member browser available from the member box after login. Find your friends! * Member profile fields extended, profile viewing available. Log in and update yours! (As a new preference, all profiles are visible by default. Turn this off from your preferences if need be.) * Members can now e-mail others from their profiles. * Text title and author separated into distinct fields. * Two new metadatas added for texts: Subtitle and English title. * Keywords and author names are now clickable and lead to search. * The search engine is now active. Full text content search is still way out there in the future, we need to work on file formats first. Need to add per category search. Dev 0.20 * * A good deal of style added. We all need to be able to live with it. * News column and page added, the first news item added! * Core member functionality coded, login and auto-login activated, view for new and updated entries since last visit added as a new feature. * A fair deal of structure polish on current library pages. * Hovering over a text download link now tells the filesize. * Library entry data is now broken into relevant metadata fields. (Editors will need to work on actually filling in the data.) * A bunch of awesome cubehead smilies produced. (See the news entry.) Dev 0.15 * * Some main pages in place * Separate page for support / donations * Enhanced donation options * Spam and hacker patched contact form in place * Something else that'll have more meaning in the future Dev 0.10 * Basic library routines have been put in place. - Slipstream navigation added - Subcategory routines in place - Files converted to new naming convention - Duplicate DOC, PDF etc. redirected into single entry - Automatic available file format recognition in place - Individual entry view coded - Texts for category fetcher done - Category listing fetcher done - Basic templating engine created - Old database converted Dev 0.01 * There's pretty much nothing here yet. And no, it isn't going to be looking flashy until the core functions are done, skin is laid on top of the engine in the end. I do have an aesthetic sense, but I don't have time to fiddle with design when my hands are dirty with the core.
