Recently, Mayurbhanj get a place in the list of world’s greatest destination of 2023 that’s the proud moment for us along with Ladakh which is the second from India because taj mahal agra is not only the monument that known worldwide. There are many other places of India that are getting recognition in the top tourist destination. Mayurbhanj is one the largest district by area out of the 30 district of Odisha which lies in the eastern India. Baripada is the headquarters along with other major towns are Bahalda, Rairangpur, and Karanjia. The place is the treasure of forest that’s vast area surrounds and filled with Piasal, Sal, medicines herbs, varieties of woods, and many more. The place is full of natural beauty that has different types of birds, scenic beauty, and animals that’s why the tourist destination is called a perfect picturesque.

Some enlightened about the history of the Mayurbhanj. Mayurbhanj were also spelled as Morbhanj or Mohurbunge in the many British India record. The name of the district is a portmanteau of Mayura (peacock) and Bhanja is based on the ruling dynasty. It is also believed that Mayura and Bhanjas merged around in the 14th century. The peacock motif was later adopted by the Bhanjas which is featured on the coat of arms. There is a long history of this ruling dynasty but it is one of ruling kingdom that merged in the India in1949. When we are highlighting the geographical and climate structure of the Mayurbhanj then it is a land-locked place which lies in the north east of the corner of the state. One of the most famous national parks located in the middle of the district. It is one of the best tourist destinations that also enlisted in the world’s best place of India. Best Time To Visit: The place is lies in the coastal region so you can visit throughout the year but best season is winters that is from October to March. In the reaming months of summer you can visit also but due to humid and hot but you should avoid the months of rain because of coastal line.

How To Reach

The state is connected with all the three ways of transportation airway, railway and roadways.

Air: The nearest international airport is Dum Dum airport from which the places is roughly around 195km away that is Baripada. The second nearest airport is Biju Patnaik airport, Bhubaneshwar which is around 207km from Baripada.

Railway: The city is well connected with the Baripada to many places like Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Cuttack, and Jamshedpur with the rest of the country as well.

Roadways: It is well connected with the cities like Puri, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Angul, Ranchi, Bolangir, Jhargram, etc. via Odisha state services of transportation and you can also hire private travel as well. There are some places like Baripada which is 60km from Balasore, 103 km from Kharagpur, 163km from Jamshedpur, 231km from Cuttack, 255km from Bhubaneswar, and 368km from Rourkela.
