The text used for transcription was the one edited by Dr. Chinmayi Chatterjee (Calcutta: Jadavpur University, 1988).

The six sandarbhas are divided into four categories. The first four volumes deal with sambandha-jnana, or metaphysics. The fifth, Bhakti-sandarbha, deals with abhidheya-jnana, or the prescriptions of devotional activity. This sixth volume, Priti-sandarbha, deals with the prayojana-tattva, or ultimate goal. As such it covers much of the material found in Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu and Ujjvala-nilamani, though restricting its description to the material found in the Bhagavata Purana.
