Amboli is relatively less explored as compared to other hill stations of Maharashtra. Amboli is the last hill station of the state before the coastal highlands of Goa begin. The hill station is situated in the south of the state with an altitude of 690 mt. As we all know Amboli lies in the Sahayadri hills which are one of the “eco hot-spot” and is surrounded by unusual fauna and flora. Here, you will find the ancient Shiva temple called Hiranyakeshwar sitting in the cave and the source of the river that is called Hiranyakeshi in the village. Amboli is also closer to the Goa, so the nearest airport is in Dabolim from where the place is around 57km away from there you can easily hire a taxi. The hill station is in the Konkan region of Maharashtra so the nearest railway station is in Sawantwadi which is around 30km away from the place.
