Description
Suryadasa (1507-1588 CE) was born into a learned family of the Bharadvaja Gotra settled in Parthaura on the Godavari. His father was the well-known astronomer Jnanaraja, who aslo acted as his teacher. Exceptionally gifted, Suryadasa's works include poetry, philosophy. mathematics, astronomy and Vedic exegesis.
The work presented here, the Ramakrsnavilomakavya, shows Suryadasa's skill in composing poetry. The second line of each verse consists of the syllables of the first line reversed. The first lines tell the story of the god Rama, the second ones the story of the god Krsna. This was typed and contributed by Toke Lindegaard Knudsen for the Gaudiya Grantha Mandira. Source texts
